It is important for you to offer several access possibilities to your event. You want to reduce traffic congestion before and after the event. Then have a look here.

CHECKLIST MOBILITY MANAGEMENT
Find here an overview about how to deal with mobility management and public relation campaigns in general.

IMPROVED PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Provide a missing link from nearby bus terminals or railway stations to the event site; provide later services to get back home; provide sufficient capacity for very large events; provide park and ride facilities for very large events.

GUARDED BICYCLE STORAGE FACILITIES
Bicycle storage facilities are feasible for any size of event: from small to very large events. Especially if cycling is common in a region, guarded storage facilities can be an interesting option.

PARK + RIDE
In order to keep away traffic from the sensitive areas, existing distant car parks can be used if special shuttle services provide a link between the car park and the event's location during the event period.

CARPOOLING
A carpool matching system brings car drivers and passengers together to come to the festival and to return home together as well. Carpool is a solution for all types of events but especially late at night if insufficient public transport is available.

SIGNPOSTING FOR SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT
It is useful to introduce a separate signposting system for cyclists and public transport users. Signposts can point from nearby railway stations and bus stops to the event site; signposting for cyclists allows to choose for attractive cycling routes, away from the busy car traffic, increasing the attractiveness of cycling to and from the event.

COMMUNICATION CAMPAIGN
Very often, attractive alternatives for car driving are available but hardly known by the visitors. Hence information and communication campaigns for sustainable transport modes are extremely important.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT COMMUNICATION
The use of public transport can be increased when the existing network is presented as 'dedicated' to an event. Information on public transport can, in this way, reach and seduce a wider public. To 'dedicate' public transport network a specific name, design, and targeted communication and information can be provided.

COMBINED TICKETS
Combined ticketing means that the ticket for an event also includes an access right to public transport services to and from the event.

START EVENT IN BUS
This measure is an attempt to attract visitors to public transport. A specific feature of the event is used to give the bus a unique atmosphere. This can be for example music on the bus for disco-buses or drinks or even sand on the bus floor for beach buses.

INFORMATION STAND
Many visitors need last minute information, once they're on the festival ground, on how to get back home by public transport or by carpool. Especially on types of events where the time of return is not always known before the visitors come to the festival, an information stand on the festival ground proves to be very useful.

COMMUNICATION BY MASS MEDIA
Every event is promoted by different kinds of advertising-tools. Planning the event, one should always keep in mind that the visitor is not always aware of the implemented mobility or environment measures.
