You are bothered by a draggled location after your event. You want to reduce cleaning costs. Did you know you can reduce the waste volume at your event by up to 2/3 by carrying out the following measures.

CHECKLIST WASTE MANAGEMENT
Find here an overview on how to deal with waste management in general.

REUSABLE CUPS
Providing drinks and food is essential for most events and a main source of income. This service for large numbers of visitors however is also creating large amounts of waste. This amount can be significantly reduced by a deliberate substitution of all one-way packaging and other auxiliary items for food and drinks.

LARGE CONTAINERS
By using large containers for beverages and using dishes and silverware which can be reused, such as plates, knives, forks, and spoons and glasses, you can reduce waste volume by up to 2/3. At the same time, you raise the standard of catering and you will have a cleaner event location.

REGIONAL PRODUCTS
Large events should be considered a source of income for local entrepreneurs and should thus be recognised as a support for regional markets. Therefore it makes sense if farmers are increasingly invited to offer their products at local events.

COMPULSORY WASTEBAGS
Festivals with attached camping areas produce large amount of waste disposal . A compulsory waste bag is an incentive for visitors to collect their own waste and return it to the waste collection points, where the deposit is paid back.

WASTE COLLECTION
If waste at events is sorted into different waste fractions, it can be recycled for other applications instead of being dumped. Choosing for waste sorting at events is a logical decision: If we are all supposed to sort waste at home, why should we forget at once to sort waste at events?

ANIMATION TEAM
The animation team informs the visitors on the waste and other environment measures at the event. The idea is to motivate the visitors to co-operate and make the measures work.

INVOLVEMENT OF SPONSORS, CATERERS & ORGANISERS
Most events are partly financed by sponsors and other commercial investors. You can offer sponsors attractive solutions coping both with their interests and environmental requirements.
